A worn copper alloy post-medieval farthing trade token of seventeenth century date, issued by Richard Rastell of Thame, Oxfordshire between AD 1648-1672. The obverse depicts the Mercer's Arms while the reverse has his initials R R in the centre. Williamson (Oxfordshire) no. 205.

Not much is known about Rastell; he paid tax on three hearths in 1662, and is recordered simply as a 'parishoner' in 1665. In 1667 a child of his is baptised. (After J G Milne 1935).
