An incomplete cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame dating to the Post-Medieval period (c. AD 1620-1690). The fragment is part of an asymmetrical openwork frame with a convex moulded roundel at the apex and beaded outer edges. The openwork pattern forms two sub-oval holes surmounted by one lozenge-shaped hole between them. The broken and bent arms either side of the frame would have extended to form a square-shaped area with further openwork either side. The underside of the frame is flat and plain. The buckle frame measures 23.9mm in length, 38.5mm in width, 2.2mm thick and weighs 5.2 grams. As Whitehead 1996, Buckles 1250-1800, p. 80, no. 496, Greenlight Publishing.
