A copper alloy fragment of a Roman brooch, comprising the head, spring and wings. A retaining hook for the spring chord is present and there is a second lug for the spring although this is obscured by corrosion. The bow is flat in profile, with a deeply incised double groove along the spine. The wings are semi-cylindrical. Possibly Colchester derivative, Harlow double lug type, 1st Century AD, as Hattatt p 296 number 255.
