Copper alloy buttons. Two flat discoid uniform buttons, possibly die-stamped, and each with a cast and drilled loop on the back. Both bear a crowned monogram GR on their gilded fronts, and are almost certainly from the same scrap of a military uniform. The style of monogram would be consistent with the reign of George III (1760-1820), and a military presence might be either Regular, Yeomanry or Volunteer forces. Given their apparently identical forms, the measurements below are presented for the complete example only, though a combined weight is also offered. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1790-1820.
