Lead possible shot. A small cast ball with a flattened rounded surface perhaps caused by set up, an effect occurring at the moment of firing a smoothbore weapon, but also with dents arising from impact. The ball may alternatively have been included in a multiple load, perhaps fired from a blunderbuss, or - less likely - as part of a charge of military case shot. The mass might suggest this to have been fired from a light fowling piece or 'rook and rabbit' gun. Patinated. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1800
