Three fragments of Roman Samian ware, dating to AD 42-200. Both faces of the fragments have a redish slip and the fabric has an uniform light pink colour.
1. A fragment of a base and lower body of a possible carinated bowl, Form 78.Both faces have the redish slip and the fabric has an uniform light pink colour. Length: 67.44 mm. Width: 65.12 mm. Thickness, where th base meets the wall: 11.98 mm. Weight: 42.64 g.
2. A fragment of a possible dish rim, Form 79. The upper edge of the rim does not survive. The outer face has a pair of incised lines underneath the rim break. Length: 47.76 mm. Width: 32.43 mm. Thickness: 7.50 mm. Weight: 10.17 g.
3. A fragment of a base of an unclear Form. The base raises slightly at the centre. The basal interior of the vessel has an impressed maker's mark in an oval stamp. It reads [...]V[...]. The stamp is surrounded by a pair of concentric incised lines. The outer face of the wall have two pairs of concentric incised lines. Length: 98.53 mm. Width: 58.16 mm. Thickness of the base: 6.34 mm. Thickness of the foot:7.05 mm. Height: 19.75 mm. Weight: 64.93 g.
