The pin, chape and spindle are missing.
The frame is oval and has fragments of an iron spindle surviving within each drilled hole. At the front, above each drilled hole, there is a four faced pyramidal knop. The remainder of the front face is decorated with evenly spaced transverse grooves. The underside is flat and bevelled internally.

A Similar buckle has been published and dated c. 1660-c. 1720 AD (Whitehead 2003: 98, ref: 605).
