An incomplete copper alloy button dated to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1600-1700). The remains of the object consist of the discoidal head with convex front and central pellet. The reverse of the head is flat and no remains of the separate wire shank are present. There is some iron staining on the reverse suggesting the shank was iron wire.
A similar example can be seen in Read (2005: 76) no. 305.
The overall dimensions are as follows: 12.69mm in diameter, 4.65mm in thickness and 2.44g in weight.
