A complete copper alloy buckle of medieval date (c. 1350-1400).

A double oval framed buckle, composed of two D-shaped loops with a central bar. The frame itself is convex in cross section, with a flat reverse. The frame is angled, and it is very similar to Egan and Pritchard (1991: 82) number 333. There is a small raised linear decoration marking the points where the central bar meets the frame at both top and bottom edges. The bar is much more sharply angled and is triangular in cross section. The pin survives on the central bar, and is trapezoid in cross section, with a flat top and bottom and angled sides, tapering to a point at its terminal.

It is 23.3mm wide at the point where the bar meets the frame, and the widest point of the loops measures 25.1mm. It is 36.3mm in length, while the pin is 21.4mm in length from the bar to its terminal. The frame is 2.5mm thick, the bar is 2.4mm thick and the pin is 1.5mm thick. It weighs 6.47g.
