A heavily worn sherd of wheel thrown probable late Iron Age to early Romano-British ceramic vessel.

Description: The sherd is a body sherd and irregularly shaped. The fabric has an unoxidised outer surface and unevenly oxidised inner, the surface has been abraded showing mixed oxidisation and with layers of pink and a central grey core. The inclusion are common and a mix of common well sorted small rounded to subround sandy grit, common well sorted flecks of quartz, poorly sorted small-larg sub-angular flint grit and some poorly sorted sparse mid grog. The breaks are not well rounded. Striations due to wheel throwing visible on the inner circle.

Measurements: 68.95mm wide, 61.54mm high, 6.61mm thick and 27.89g in weight.
