Roman copper alloy headstud brooch, Length: 32 mm, width: 11 mm, thickness: 4.62 g.

The brooch has short rectangular shaped wings which had a D shaped cross section. The central hinged pin is missing, as is the suspension loop from its upper centre. The bow is decorated with a raised circular 'stud' containing a raised cross inside and below this are two rows of facing triangular cells down the length of the bow. This terminates with a stepped rounded foot and the reverse of the bow contains a catch plate scar, half the length of the bow.
