Copper alloy nail. Cast nail with a square section shank and a rhomboid head with four lightly faceted faces to a low pyramidal top. The tip is slightly bent. Copper alloy nails would be used where the risk of fire or explosion was to be averted, as in a flour mill, as they would not strike sparks if in accidental contact with iron hobnails etc. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900
