A post Medieval cast copper alloy acorn shaped mount, dating to the 17th century. It is pointed oval in plan and has small knops at the top and the bottom. The front face is slightly convex and the reverse face is slightly concave. The front is decorated with four incised lines, two in the middle of the mount and one towards at each of the knops. The reverse of the object retains two spurs from the integrally-cast fixing pins, the majority of which are missing due to old and abraded breaks. There are patches of off-white and light and mid green patina.
