An incomplete copper-alloy Early Medieval buckle, dating to AD 1000-1100. It consists of a D-shaped frame, which has an oval cross-section and a narrowed and off set bar; at either end of the bar there is a moulded animal with the mouth open towards the pin bar itself. The front face of the outer edge of the frame has a shallow notch for the missing pin. The surface is very worn.
