Distorted fragment of copper alloy openwork bell. Approximately 40% of the bell survives with material missing from old breaks down both sides. The body of the bell is pierced with one circular (possibly a mis-cast triangle) and three triangular shaped apertures that stop short of the base, which is decorated with twin lines banding around the periphery. Part of the upper suspension loop survives at the apex. Bells such as this are most commonly assigned a Roman date stretching occasionally into the Early Medieval. Cf with SF-A755C5. Circa AD 120-410.
