Late Iron Age to early Roman (late 1st century BC to AD late 1st century) cast copper alloy Nauheim Derivative, La Tene III brooch. The brooch is cast as one piece. The spring is coiled with three coils with the pin missing, and the chord going under the spring. The spring develops into the bow which is a slender rectangle and an elongated asymmetrical oval in plan. In profile it is slightly curved with the convex face forming the outer face. The lower terminal of the bow is broken, probably recently.

The surface of the brooch has a mottled brown patina.

The brooch measures 35.57mm long, 14mm wide across the spring, and weighs 4.79g.

The brooch is a La Tene III type brooch which dates to the late Iron Age, late first century. Bayley and Butcher (2004, 145-7) illustrate a similar brooch, No. T9.
