An incomplete copper-alloy mount or furniture fitting of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1500 - 1700. The mount is sub-lozenge in plan with an elaborate moulded foliate design to the front face. The design comprises a central six-petalled flower set within four sub-triangular leaf-like projections.
The reverse of the mount is flat and undecorated with the remains of two attachment spikes projecting at opposite points.
The metal has a mid-red/brown patina with traces of gilding and is worn. The mount is 21.6mm long, 20.8mm wide, 2.4mm thick and weighs 2.9g.
