Copper alloy buckle fragment. Upper or lower side fragment from a rectangular buckle with a separate steel spindle [lost], the housing lying on a flange projecting from behind. The display side appears to bear paired strips of possibly billeted moulded decoration; a pronounced curvature may suggest a function as a shoe buckle. Abraded. Suggested date: post-Medieval, 1720-1790
