A distorted, complete Medieval to Post Medieval cast, sub-circular, unifaced lead token, c. AD 1550-1800. Powell Type 3. The token is divided into eight segments with raised lines and has a pellet in each segment; the other face is undecorated. The token measures 19.37mm in diameter, 2.39mm thick and weighs 6.09grams.
Lead tokens were easy to produce and widely circulated; they appear in the Medieval period and those with simple designs continued in use throughout both the Medieval and Post Medieval period. Therefore, a general date of c. 1250-1800 AD is suggested for this token.
