Silver medieval groat of Edward III, dating to 1354 - 1345/6 AD. London mint. Pre-treaty series E with reverse-barred Ns on the reverse. The initial cross suggests series E rather than series D. +[EDWARD D G RE]X [A]NGL Z FRA[NC D HYB] is the obverse legend and [POSVI]/DEVm A/DIV[TOR/E mEV]//CIVI/TAS/LON/DON is the reverse legend. The coin is 24.3mm in diameter, 0.9mm in thickness and weighs 3.56g. The coin is partly clipped.
