A complete cast copper-alloy key dating to the Medieval period, c. 1150-1400. The key is complete except for the end of the shank, which is missing in an old break. It demonstrates a circular bow with a large central circular aperture, which transitions into a hollow oval-sectioned shank. Extending from the base of the shank at its terminal is a rectangular bit with a single small cleft taken out of each side. Preserved in fair condition with an even greenish patina, it measures 35.91mm in length, 13.21mm in diameter at the bow, and 3.51mm thick at the midpoint of the shank. It weighs 4.26g.
