A copper-alloy ring-shaped probable bead, possibly of Iron Age or Roman in date. c. AD 800BC-410.
Description: The bead is in the form of annular ring with a medium central hole. The circumference of the ring does have a slightly raised ridge. The central perforation is cylindrical The object is a mid grey-green colour. The bead does have surface wear and pitting present.
Measurements: 12.175mm in diameter, 4.67mm thick and 2.44g in weight.
Discussion: Dating is uncertain and such beads are known from the Bronze Age to the Anglo-Saxon period, complicating this most of these periods are well represented in the area so narrowing by context is unlikely to be possible in this case.. This example was found close by to KENT-AD171B a similar example and it seems probable that they are related .
