A lead-alloy medallion produced to celebrate the marriage of Princess Alexandra of Denmark to Prince Albert of Wales on 10 March 1863.
Obverse: framed facing busts of Alexandra (left) and Albert (right) with their names above; plume above; inscription in banner below reading 'May the be happy'.
Reverse: Laurel around inscription in 9 lines reading 'H.R.H/ Albert / Prince of Wales / and / H.R.H. Princess / Alexandra of / Denmark / Married March 10 / 1863'
The medallion has been pierced above the facing busts of the obverse and inscription on the reverse, possibly to allow the object to be worn as a pendant.
