An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped asymmetrical buckle (c. 1575-c. 1700).

The pin is missing.

The frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear. Each loop is bevelled internally at the front and rear. The smaller loop is rectangular and has a straight outside edge. The larger loop is 'D'-shaped and has a pointed outside edge. The bar is rectangular in cross-section and has a deposit of iron on each face.

This buckle frame has a shiny green patina.

Length: 22.0mm; width: 16.0mm; thickness: 2.8mm. Weight: 2.04g.

A similar shaped buckle has been published and date c. 1575-1700 (Whitehead 2003: 91, ref: 567).
