A complete cast lead spindle whorl, dating from the Medieval - Post Medieval period, between AD 1400 - 1600 (diameter: 35 mm; thickness: 9 mm; weight: 57.95 g). The spindle whorl is circular in plan and bi-conical in section with a central circular drilled hole for the probable wooden spindle to run through. The reverse is flat. The artefact is decorated on both sides. On one side of the artefacts there are irregular and grooved linear markings, which radiate outwards from the central hole. On the other side there are small cross marks. The artefact is in a worn and poor condition.
