A complete lead or lead alloy Shot of Post-Medieval date (AD 1640-1750). The object is spherical with a shallow circumferential casting seam. The ball displays possible signs of impact damage with a flattening to one side of the object. The metal is dark grey in colour with a pitted and corroded patina. The weight of the ball suggests that it was meant to be fired from a carbine.
