SCRAPER (TOOL)

Unique ID: PUBLIC-D7E4AA

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A roughly crescent shaped secondary flake, mottled grey/brown in colour. The flake is probably formed on a piece of secondary debitage. There is around 70% cortex remaining on the dorsal side. The area of the flake covered in cortex has a sub-oval indentation measuring roughly 18mm x 8mm. The remaining area of the dorsal side is covered with extensive, scaled, low angle flaking, forming a side scraper on the left mesal. The ventral face is smooth with a low bulb of percussion, with ripple lines emanating from it.

The scraper is probably dated to the early to middle Bronze Age.

Length: 43.0mm, Width: 29.4mm, and Thickness: 10.4mm. Weight: 14.8g.
