Copper alloy buckle. Cast rectangular buckle frame of rounded section with a strap bar set back from the frame and an indented pin rest in its outer edge. Rust stains suggest the buckle was deposited with an iron pin attached [now lost]. The robust construction points to a use with horse gear. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.
