An almost complete post-Medieval copper-alloy cordate-shaped mount (1600-1700).

This mount is convex at the front and flat at the rear. In plan, one end is rounded and the sides taper to a point. The rear face has a complete spike and the stub of another.

This mount is reddish brown with traces of a dark green patina.

Length: 24.7mm; width: 10.0mm; thickness: 1.5mm; thickness including spike: 4.8mm. Weight: 1.85g.

Similar mounts have been published (Read 2001: 29, fig. 22, refs: 322; 324).
