Lead weight. Cast oval weight, of rectangular section with rounded ends. One end is nicked, which may be provision for tied fastening, though weights of this form would more usually have an integrally cast or drilled apical loop. Patinated. The form is broadly comparable with that of line weights and net sinkers of medieval date, though this is smaller than most examples of this form. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1500
