Pale grey flint with cortex strip, possibly reformed; core. An elongated chunk with long narrow parallel flake removal scars suggesting unidirectional working from a flat striking platform at one end. Creamy patina suggests the object has subsequently endured exposure to a calcareous environment. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC.
