An incomplete Medieval silver halfpenny, probably of Edward IV, (first reign, 1461-70 or second reign, 1471-83), minted at London. North 1991: 89, 1608; 95, 1667.

Obverse: [ ]; Crowned bust facing.

Reverse: [CIVI/TAS]/LOn/DOn; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant.

Length: 12.8mm; width: 10.2mm. Weight: 0.28g. DA=12:1.

It is possible that the coin is a halfpenny of Edward III (1327-1377). However, it is more likely to be of Edward IV.

North, J.J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume II, Edward I to Charles II, 1272-1662. Spink & Son, London.
