Lead hem (or possibly curtain) weight, in the form of a 4.9mm thick flat disc of 24.3mm diameter with curved sides, and centrally located recessed circles of 9.5mm diameter on both faces, within which are two c.2mm diameter attachment holes. The recess is deeper on one face than the other.
Similar examples can be seen on the database, e.g. NLM-B5C516, LANCUM-0C64F1, PUBLIC-12B9F7, although this one is unusual in that it has recesses on both faces. There is a reference to hem weights on page 83 of Bailey's (2004) 'Buttons and fasteners'.
Probably of 18th or 19th century date, though the absence of any great depth of patination may favour the latter.
