A lead weight of uncertain date. The weight has a sub-rectangular shape with a length of 30.0mm and maximum width of 14.0mm. The artefact has a sub-rectangular cross-section, with rounded edges, and a thickness of 3.9mm. At one end, the top of the object, there is a sub-circular aperture of c.3.8mm diameter set in from the artefact's edge by 2.1mm. This aperture would have been used to suspend the weight, possibly though not conclusively suggesting that the weight may have been used with a steel-yard. The top end of the artefact is rounded and this narrows the object's width to 10.6mm across the centre of the hole. This artefact weighs 12.34g (0.44oz). On one face of the object there are subtle shallow sub-triangular depressions between areas also sub-triangular in in shape filling the lower half of that side. These suggest a possible radiating or sunburst type of design (see the annotated image). There may also be further shallow depressed shapes further up towards the suspension aperture however, if present, they are too indistinct to describe.
