An incomplete copper-alloy pin of Roman date, c.AD 43 - 410. The head of the pin is biconical with a beaded median ridge and a cross formed of parallel grooves to the upper hemisphere.
A circular sectioned shaft extends from the centre of the lower hemisphere, tapering in diameter to a worn break.
The metal has a dark green/brown patina and is worn. The pin is 45.8mm long, 8mm in diameter at the head, 2.2mm in diameter at the shaft and weighs 3.1g.
