A Roman silver coin; a denarius of Severus Alexander (AD 222 - 235) dating from AD 222 (Reece Period 11). SALVS PVBLICA reverse type depicting Salus enthroned left feeding snake arising from altar. Mint of Rome. cf. RIC Vol. IV (II), p. 84, no. 178. It is 19.2mm in diameter and 2.1mm thick. It weighs 2.3g.
