Lead object of uncertain function and date, possibly a gaming piece. Suggested date-range: c. 900 - 1800 AD. The object is circular with a central circular perforation and prominent crenallations that rise up from the outer edge. The object has a matt, light-brown patina. It is 21.27mm in diameter, 12.13mm in height and 3.46mm in thickness. It weighs 14.30g.
Similar examples have been recorded on the database but the precise function of these objects is unknown: YORYM-0DD735, YORYM-231508 and YORYM-2306D4. The crenallation and perforation of this object bears reminiscence with gaming pieces of early medieval date (for example: SF-B9765E). However, the parallel is not strong enough to permit firm identification. Until closer parallels are found, the date-range for this object must remain imprecise and the function uncertain.
