An incomplete copper alloy enamelled plate brooch dating to c.100 AD - c.200 AD . The brooch is an elongated hexagonal shape with a knop at all six angles, one has broken off. The inlaid enamel decoration is separated into three geometric cells by metal reserves; an upper and a lower equilateral triangle, both filled with blue enamel and a central square in between filled with millefiori decoration. The millefiori comprises four ovals of radiating alternating white and red lines each with central blue oval, placed irregularly. At the reverse is the double lug with a copper alloy axis bar forming a hinge for the pin, placed just below the neck of the uppermost knop. Part of the pin remains attached. The pin has an expanded, pierced head and narrows into a circular sectioned shaft before the break. Set opposite is the incomplete triangular hooked catchplate.
