An incomplete copper alloy probable strap end dating to the early medieval period (AD 750 - AD 950).
The strap end is triangular and very worn. The upper edge has a pointed extension on one side, possibly representing a break around a rivet hole. The lower terminal shows some traces of raised moulding, which possibly formed a zoomorphic design. Both sides are very worn meaning that any decoration is now unclear.Possibly Thomas Class A Type 1 Zoomorphic.
The metal is very worn and dark green in colour. The strap end is 30.5 mm long, 13.7 mm wide and 1.4 mm thick. It weighs 1.2 g.
Class: Thomas' Class A, Type 1(possibly)
