Fragments of three Post medieval ceramic vessel. Probably of 18th to 19th century date.
1. Part of the neck and handle from a large jug. South Somerset (Donyatt) ware. Medium orange fabric with occasional dark orange grog inclusion. Oval sectioned applied strip handle with central thumb groove running down its length. Internal clear glaze. 173g.
2. Part of the rim of a pan, slightly closed with the body angled into the neck then an angled out rim with a flat top edge with several grooves running around it. South Somerset (Donyatt) ware. Medium orange fabric with occasional dark orange grog inclusion. A line of thumb impressions across the joint between body and rim on the outer face. Internal clear glaze. 67g.
3. Sherd from an scraffitio decorated dish. Medium orange fabic with very occasional white limestone or lias inclusion up to 2.3mm, from Bridgwater. White slip on inner side with clear (appearing yellow-orange) glaze over. Decoration consists of part of a branch with central stem and paired angled side branches and part of a curved decoration containing another curve, a double concentric circle or spiral. The sherd thickens towards one upper corner, possibly as it starts to widen to the rim and has prominent turning marks on the outer side. 56g.
