An incomplete cast copper-alloy linch pin terminal of later Iron Age or early Roman date, -150 BC - AD 150. The linch pin terminal is a tapered cylindrical shape being circular in cross section - in broad terms it can be described as 'vase' shaped. The base of the terminal is a disc that supports the body of the terminal on its upper face while its lower face reveals the corroded remains of the copper alloy projection being broken flush to the base. Despite the corrosion, it is clear that the shaft was oval in section rather than square or rectangular. The body of terminal tapers in a cone shape and is surmounted by an expanded oval shaped knop. Where the terminal tapers a deep V shaped cast reel is cast. The terminal has a mid-dark green surface patina which is heavily abraded; where abrasion has removed the patina a light grey green powdery surface is present.

The linch pin terminal measures 21.6mm long, is 16.4mm wide and 13.2mm thick; it weighs 13.35 grams
