A complete but worn horse gear fitting, dating from c. 120 to 250/300 AD. The fitting is formed of three rounded sections, between each section is a raised and moulded collar. On the reverse are two intergral attachment lugs, these are worn. One is broken and one narrows to a sharp point. The lugs project out from inbetween the central section and the two outside sections. The three rounded sections are slightly concave on the reverse. The fitting has a shiny dark brown patina, and measures 33.3mm in length, 9.0mm in width, 2.4mm in thickness and weighs 3.34g.
