A complete silver Roman denarius of Commodus (AD 175-192), dating to the period c.AD 189 (Reece Period 9). LIBERALITAS AVG VII reverse type depicting Liberalitas standing left holding an abacus and cornucipiae. Mint of Rome.

Discussion:
The coins were not identified as potential Treasure until they had been looked at in detail. As such they were recorded separately as YORYM-6DB57B & YORYM-6DDD66. The finder has since clarified that the coins were indeed found together.
Conclusion:
In terms of age and as the coins contain a minimum of 10% precious metal they qualify as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
