An incomplete pewter object in the form of a fish, probably dating to the Post Medieval to Modern period (c. AD 1700-1900). The object is flat and depicts the head, body and tail of a fish with moulded features depicting the face, scales and tail. The details are apparent on both faces of the object. The edges have been broken away around the face and lower part of the body.
There is no evidence of form of attachment therefore it is uncertain if this object was a mount or part of a larger object. A similar object recorded on the PAS database is DUR-EB76EC. Suggestions for this example include brooch, book fitting or spinner for a fishing line. Owing to the style of the design and deorative features a Post Medieval to Modern date has been tentatively applied to the object in question.
The overall dimensions are as follows: 19.08mm in length, 51.13mm in width, 1.74mm in thickness and 4.04g in weight.
