Two small and irregular flint tertiary debitage flakes (from the third and final phase of tool making) dating from the Neolithic period (3500-2100 BC). Both flakes are formed from mid - light grey coloured flint which has patinated to a white colour. The ventral face of both flakes show conchoidal ripples but the bulb of percussion and the striking platform, point of percussion have been removed through snapping. The dorsal faces have a number of irregular and regular flake scars. The more rectangular flake (2) has some signs of deliberate retouch forming a slightly waisted profile at the mid-point of the long edge.

The flakes measure:

  1. 27.5mm length, 17.3mm width, is 3.6mm thick and weighs 1.98 grams
  2. 20.6mm length, 14.2mm width, is 4.4mm thick and weighs 1.54 grams
