A Medieval copper alloy rectangular frame buckle with integral, narrowed plate, dating to c. AD 1250-1400. The buckle consists of a rectangular frame with a narrowede external edge, retaining a copper alloy sheet roller in situ. A narrow integral plate projects from the bar end of the buckle frame, plano-convex in cross section and profile, preceded by a thick sub-rectangular collar and terminating in an elongated knop, perforated to hold a lost rivet. An integral rivet projects from below the collar in the reverse, with a circular aperture below the bar to accomodate a lost pin.

cf. Griffiths, Philpott & Egan (2007: 103) nos. 768-772, dated to the early 13th century onwards. The buckle frame itself resembles Meols type D, dated to the late 13th/early 14th century.
