An incomplete Medieval silver penny of Alexander III of Scotland (1249-1286). Second Coinage, c. 1280-1286. Class E2/M mule: incurved lettering on the obverse and 24 points on the reverse.

Obverse: +ALEXAN[DER DE]I G[R]A; Crowned bust with sceptre left.

Reverse: [REX]/SCO/TO[R]/V[M]; Long cross dividing the inscription with a mullet of six points in each quadrant.

Diameter: 18.5mm. Weight: 0.96g. DA=12:4.
