An incomplete copper-alloy possibly Roman strap end, dating to AD 43-410. It consists of a triangular cross-sectioned frame, which has an openwork decoration defining a lower drop-shaped loop, which has its pointed part extending sideways and creating two symmetrical circular loops. The lower outer edge of the drop-shaped loop has a slightly recessed section, which seems worn and might have had a metal roll wrapped around or a further metal pendant. The top edge of the symmetrical circular loops have two D-shaped lugs set at right angle to the plane of the frame, which are pierced with circular holes.
It reminds of the attachment mechanism of these examples: LANCUM-F8E945, SF-2A8A84, BH-C589D3. No parallels have been found.
