A cast incomplete, worn copper-alloy finger ring of Roman period.
Description: The ring has a projecting flat circular bezel, flanked by triangular shoulders. In profile, the band appears pentagonal; it is thinner near the bezel and then thickens along the shoulders. The bezel has an engraved spiral pattern on the top. The edges are heavily abraded, particularly along the top part near the bezel. The shoulders are the broadest near the bezel and taper downwards. The hoop is broken at the bottom, also with worn edges, which suggest the breakage took place in the distant past. Overall, the ring has a deep grey colour.
Measurements: Ring - width:18.01mm, thickness: 1.10m; height: 8.99mm, weight: 3.11g. Bezel - length: 8.14mm, width: 7.29mm.
Discussion: The finger ring is similar to Henig Type VIII; Guiraud (1989, 181) type 2f with convex shoulders which dates to circa mid-1st to early 4th century AD (Guiraud 1989, 203).
