Medieval lead alloy seal matrix. 37mm in length, 25mm wide and 5mm thick with a weight of 13.71grams. The object has a pointed oval form and a rectangular cross section. Its reverse has a central semi-circular cross sectioned, tapering ridge which terminates with a now incomplete suspension loop. The matrix depicts a standing, tonsured? and robed figure holding a crook or staff in its right hand and a probable book resting on its torso and held up by its left hand. This stands in a beaded border with possible foliage filling any gaps. The inscription appears to read SIGILP[?]VABI:HISGEROV ?DO PIE?
